There are many multi level marketing companies around that are both legitimate and not.  Finding the legitimate ones is important if you want to build a life time residual income from it.  Below are some of the popular companies around, however, there are many.

Avon

Avon is a publicly traded company (AVP – NYSE) and markets its products through Independent representatives.  They have over 5 million and counting representatives who are building a solid business for themselves.  Starting back in 1886 as a perfume company in California, Avon is one of the largest resellers of cosmetic products today netting over $8 billion annually.

Multi level marketing companies that succeed typically offer a large product line.  Avon is no different with its large product line including perfume, bath & body, skin care, wellness products, make up, hair care, men’s catalog and more.

You earn retail commissions through personal sales you make plus bonuses based on performance.  Commissions range depending on sales volume but typically go from 20% to 50% of sales volume.

Melaleuca

Melaleuca is another one of those popular multi level marketing companies who have been around for some time.  Founded in 1985, they are headquartered in Idaho Falls, Idaho and net an annual profit of over $887 million in nutritional, personal care, wellness and cosmetic products.

Melaleuca has been one of the fastest growing companies on the Inc. 500′s list from 1990 through 1994 and are today a very large privately owned company.   Being in business for over 20 years they now hold a product list of over 350 products which most everyone wants and needs.  Their products can be a little bit pricier than store brand products, but generally it is worth it because of the quality of the product.

Their compensation plan is about the same as any MLM marketing opportunity which encourages both personal sales and team building.  All Independent representatives are compensated for their hard work and recruiting new team members does not go unrewarded.

ACN

This company started back in 1993 and is one of the few multi level marketing companies that serve nationwide.  In fact, this company now targets over 18 different countries and 3 separate continents.  Being a huge telecom company, ACN offers high demand products and services that most people need.

Some of the products and services ACN provides are new VoIP technology which is routed through the Internet instead of outside phone lines.  They also offer a cell phone service with top cell phone providers and satellite TV, also with top providers.  No matter which product or service people get, you are paid a percentage of every monthly bill which turns out to be a great residual income that will grow over time.  Not to mention, you are also paid for every representative you get to sign on to the business opportunity.

Whichever multi level marketing companies you research and decide to join, it is important that you go with one that is reputable and legitimate.  Typically, the longer they have been in business the better chances of them being legitimate.  Once you find that perfect MLM business, there is no stopping the amount of long term income you can make with it.

5 Tips for Effective List Building

June 26th, 2010

Your very own mailing list is the most critical asset you will have as an online business owner. The amount of traffic you direct towards your ‘opt-in’ along with the number of subscribers on your list will have a direct impact on how successful you are in making a significant income online. In many ways, your list represents the size of your market reach. As such, list building should be one of your top priorities when developing and implementing your marketing strategies. Here are 5 ways for you to approach list building effectively.

1. Put list building ‘in front’ of your business – make it a top priority. From now on, focus everything you do around building your list. Whether its article marketing, PPC marketing, social media marketing, or any other marketing strategy you are using, make sure promoting your list is embedded in your strategy. If your efforts are not concentrated on building a list, change your strategy.

2. Direct traffic to your opt-in. This may sound trivial, but I have seen many online marketers focus on driving traffic to an affiliate website, perhaps a blog where the opt-in form is not prominent or a page where they are selling a product. If you have an opt-in page – send your traffic to it. If you are sending traffic to a page without an opt-in, reconsider your strategy today and put a form on that page. If you have a blog, let visitors know about the opt-in on the blog. You will not get any subscribers if you have no visitors to your opt-in page.

3. Offer something enticing in exchange for the lead. “Join my list” is not very inviting. Give out an interesting eBook you’ve written, a course, valuable information in a video – you get the idea. Grab their attention and let them know what they will get out of the item you’re offering in exchange for their name and email address. Give them a “wow, I have to join this list and grab this” moment.

4. Provide value and build a relationship. Bombarding your list members with buy this, buy that or check this out, check that out will only shrink your list quicker than you can finish reading this article. Think of your list as your close knit group of friends. Communicate with your friends and provide them information that they can use – information that can help them build their business. Only then will they see the value in being a subscriber. Only then will they trust you. And trust is the glue that keeps you and your list together.

5. Call to action. Ok, so you’ve got some subscribers and you’ve been sending messages, building a relationship. At the same time, you want your members to take some sort of action. After all, your ultimate goal is to monetize your list. As members read your emails, you want them to do something that’s going to help accomplish your goals – most likely by following a link. Provide useful and valuable information – yet guide them to where they can find any additional information or ‘learn more’.

Having your own list is critical to your success. Follow the tips above an you will be well on your way to building a profitable list with loyal subscribers.

So How Much Training Has You MLM Up Line Given You?

June 26th, 2010

By: josh

Today, only a handful of Network Marketers have any decent MLM training. If you are someone who is just starting out in Network Marketing, or have been around for a while and still not making progress, then you have probably been recruited or sponsored by an individual who may not be looking out for your best interests.

What I mean by this is that at the end of the day, this type of home based business is a numbers game. The more people you get to sign up underneath you, the more likely you are going to reach those compensation goals you have in mind. This ‘distraction’ causes uplines to forget to give their new recruits any formal, useful MLM training, which is a real shame.

This isn’t a good thing at all, because once you are sponsored in as a newbie, you might only be told the pure basics of how to grow your business. Most of the time this leads to applying very poor sales and marketing methods that gets next to zero results!

Let’s see if I can ring a bell or two. An ineffective method may involve you approaching and pitching your inner circle of contacts on your opportunity. These are your family members, close friends and acquaintances.

So why exactly does your up line advise you to do this? Well, I see it as a very crude screening process. All you are doing is pressing your opportunity on these people to find out who is interested and hopefully by the end of doing this exercise you end up with at least a few new recruits.

But there is a catch. Actually it’s not a catch, but in fact a fairly serious consequence and that’s alienating yourself from your family and very close friends in the process of using such bad methods of prospecting. Would you want to put yourself through this? I’m pretty sure you don’t want to, I certainly don’t.

There are also other side effects such as the damage your morale suffers from by being rejected so many times, not to mention the number of occasions you have made a fool out of yourself.

What I’m trying to say here is that there are far better ways to promote your Network Marketing venture. There are techniques that actually attract potential prospects to you as opposed to applying direct marketing methods which get you nowhere.

If you want to get back up on top of the MLM horse, then you are most welcome to check out my free, new e-book on my website. It contains five fast tips for network marketing that will get your MLM business on the highway to success.

This e-book is a great starting point if you are getting no where with your MLM business. It is a good lead into for what a  prequalified MLM lead is.

I hope you enjoy the read and find it useful!
