<p>Finally, the bottom line may well rest on your bottoms. Seriously, the chairs you sit on can mean the difference between production and the need for security protection. <p>Before any major renovation project is taken on it is important to clearly define your goals. Try to pick three words to describe the look you want to achieve, and chose one phrase that defines the function of your office. This way you will be consistent in your descriptions as you go from store to store for supplies and ideas.</p>
<p>Renovations can range from large projects to minor redecorations. Either way, you should expect the office interior or exterior to be painted. You may want your walls to be a different color, or just want a fresh coat of paint on the color you already have. If your interior is being painted, you will have to move all your furniture away from the walls, and out of the room completely if possible. Talk to your contractor and decide what needs to be done prior to painting.</p>
<p>Redecorating is common, and probably a good idea. Your contractor might handle this, though it is more likely they will leave it up to you, or recommend an interior decorator. An interior decorator usually will suggest adding paintings to your walls, or offer suggestions for window dressings. Spending time and money on interior decorating may not make sense depending on the size and function of your office, but if you are remodeling to make the space nicer, it might be worth it.</p>
<p>Adding or replacing furniture can be important. If you gut and rebuild the interior of your office, but put the same mediocre furniture back in you are not going to see the change you hoped for. Keep in mind the color of your walls and the size of you office when picking out new furniture, and if possible, bring in samples of your wall colors and other textiles so you can be sure the furniture you are looking at will match your office.</p>
<p>Large, unused spaces can be filled in with any number of objects. Consider installing a fish tank in the center of a room or against a long wall. <p>Adding or tearing down walls can drastically change a room, and it can be messy during construction. If you are changing a room you might need to discuss the electrical needs of the room, such as the number of electrical outlets needed, the type of lighting you are going to have, and if you want a ceiling fan installed. If you do not share this information prior to the start of construction, you probably will not end up with the correct wiring for your needs. Some machinery requires larger breakers, so be sure to bring it up.</p>
<p>It is possible to visually divide sections of your office without adding walls. Different sections can be floored differently. Changing the texture and type of the flooring from one area to another is a good idea, and is more defining than simply using different colors. Go from carpet to wood or tile, or add a large rug if your floor is concrete. Faux wood flooring and tile are easy to install, and often can increase the market value of your space as well.</p>

These employees are definitely going to need to contact others, and one or two telephones will not get the job done. Almost every business, small to large, requires a telephone system. What are the options?</p>
<p>A business telephone system allows access to lines from any telephone on the business system. Additional features such as voicemail and data transfer are often part of the system. Key systems were some of the earliest utilized by businesses. They are comprised of manual switching between lines and the telephone itself features buttons which select the line to be used. As time has gone on, large-scale integrated circuits have replaced relays to facilitate line switching. This technology has greatly reduced the cost of operating a key system and offers features such as caller ID, speed dialing, and automatic call accounting.</p>
<p>The development of integrated services digital network (ISDN) has given rise to a business telephone system that integrates key systems with private branch exchange systems (PBX). ISDN is able to transfer at least two connections carrying any combination of voice, data, video, or fax using just one line. Key systems have developed to the point where they can support ISDN, which once was only capable on the larger, more expensive PBX systems. Hybrid systems support both digital and analog signals, although analog versions are becoming less prominent. A hybrid system offers the hands-on control of a key system while supporting the features and capabilities of a PBX system on a smaller scale.</p>
<p>The private branch exchange business telephone system is not operated by an outside carrier, but within a particular business or office itself. All of the internal lines located inside are then connected to the public switch using trunk lines. All of this switching is performed automatically, eliminating the tedium of manual switching. PBX systems offer more convenience, which means more complexity; therefore, they are not as cheap to maintain as key and hybrid systems. They do, however, greatly reduce the cost of internal calling since no outside local phone service is needed to do so. PBXs support many more voice and data transfers at one time because of their higher complexity.</p>
<p>At the end of the day, whichever business telephone system you choose depends on the size and needs of your company. Small scale businesses do not require the large number of features that large corporations do and can more easily get by with a key or hybrid system. Private branch exchanges and their many features are more suitable for the greater needs of big businesses.</p>
